Twenty years ago, our mother, Janet, first visited the Holy Land. While there, she met Issa, a craftsman in Bethlehem, and toured his work shop. Impressed with his craft and inspired by his Christian message, she began importing his Olive Wood handicrafts to spread their spiritual connection to Christians across the globe. For the next 20 years, she had built an import business within Australia, supplying Christian stores with the beautiful carvings.
My Caring Cross began when Janet was diagnosed with cancer, and she wanted to make sure that her friend and trading partner Issa would continue to have an outlet for his goods after she was gone. Her son, Angus, and his two sons, stepped up to the plate, and began importing the Caring Crosses to America. Starting with a single small online shop, they have since grown to what we know today as My Caring Cross.
